1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies do simple things — they remember whether you're logged in, what plan you're on, the language you prefer. They do not read other files on your device, run code, or harvest your browsing history outside the site that set them.
This page explains exactly which cookies GoWinBet uses, why we use them, and how you can switch them off. We've kept the list short on purpose: we don't run advertising cookies, and our analytics provider doesn't need cookies at all.
2. The cookies we set
Three categories, no advertising tracking. Here's the complete inventory:
2.1 Strictly necessary — set by GoWinBet
These keep you logged in and the application functional. They cannot be disabled in our cookie banner because the service simply won't work without them; you can still block them at the browser level, but expect a broken experience.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
gw_session | Authentication token after you log in | 30 days (sliding) |
gw_csrf | Cross-site request forgery protection on forms | Session only |
gw_prefs | Remembers your selected sport tabs, dark/light, locale | 1 year |
gw_consent | Records your choices in this banner so we don't ask again | 6 months |
2.2 Payment — set by Stripe (only on checkout)
When you reach the subscription checkout, Stripe loads its own scripts on the page. Those scripts set cookies that detect bot traffic and prevent payment fraud. Stripe is the controller of these cookies and uses them in line with its own privacy policy. We never see their contents.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
__stripe_mid | Fraud prevention — persistent device fingerprint | 1 year |
__stripe_sid | Fraud prevention — current checkout session | 30 minutes |
2.3 Live chat — set by Crisp (only when chat is opened)
We use Crisp for live customer support. Cookies are only set the first time the chat widget loads on your device. They store a chat session identifier so we can retrieve your conversation history if you message us again later.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
crisp-client/session | Identifies your support conversation across visits | 6 months |
3. Cookies we don't use
For the avoidance of doubt:
- No advertising cookies. We do not run Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any retargeting technology. Your activity on GoWinBet is not used to follow you around the web.
- No bookmaker tracking. We do not embed pixels or scripts from any sportsbook, affiliate network for sportsbooks, or odds aggregator that ties identity to your visit.
- No cookieless dark patterns. We don't use device fingerprinting, ETag tracking, or other "cookieless" identifiers as a workaround for cookie consent.
For our product analytics we use Plausible Analytics, which is intentionally cookieless. Plausible counts page views and aggregate event metrics without setting any cookie or storing personal identifiers.
4. Managing your preferences
4.1 In the GoWinBet cookie banner
The first time you visit, you'll see a banner letting you accept or reject the non-essential categories. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the Cookie settings link in the footer. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled there because the service requires them.
4.2 In your browser
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies for a specific site or globally. Below are the help pages for the major browsers — they explain how to view and remove cookies and how to reject future ones:
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will log you out and prevent the service from loading correctly. Blocking the Stripe cookies will prevent you from completing a purchase. Blocking the Crisp cookies will hide the chat widget but won't affect anything else.
5. Do Not Track
Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. There is no industry consensus on how DNT should be honored, and the W3C standard was never finalized. Because GoWinBet does not run advertising or cross-site tracking in the first place, the DNT signal has no practical effect on what we collect — we behave the same way whether or not it is set.
6. Changes to this policy
If we add a cookie or change the purpose of an existing one, we'll update the table above and bump the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also trigger a fresh prompt in the cookie banner so you have the chance to review and re-consent.
7. Contact
Questions about how we handle cookies? Email contact@gowinbet.ai. For technical issues with the banner or with cookies that won't go away, support@gowinbet.ai usually replies within one business day.
